Calaro Privacy Policy

Calaro is a calorie and nutrition tracking app built and run by an independent developer based in Saudi Arabia ("I" or "my" below). Calaro is not a company.

This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.

• Calculate your calorie and macro targets and save your logs
• Identify food from photos, barcodes, and text descriptions
• Sync your data across your devices
• Unlock premium features and verify subscriptions
• Fix crashes and improve the app
• Answer your support emails

I do not sell your data. I do not share your food logs, weight, or photos with advertisers or data brokers.

3. AI food recognition

When you photograph a meal or describe it in text, that content is sent to OpenAI to estimate the nutrition. OpenAI processes it as my service provider under the OpenAI Privacy Policy. Photos are used for analysis only.

The results are estimates. They can be wrong, especially for mixed dishes, home cooking, hidden oils, and unusual portions. Treat every number as an approximation.

4. Who the data is shared with

Data may also be disclosed if legally required — for example, to comply with a valid court order or investigate fraud or abuse.

5. Where the data goes

I am based in Saudi Arabia, and the services above store data on servers in the United States and other countries. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider's approved certification.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all its data at any time:

• In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account
• By email: write to admin@ahaai.com from the address on your account

This removes your profile, food logs, weight history, and photos. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account data — use one of the methods above.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You will never be penalised for asking.

Email admin@ahaai.com and I will respond within 30 days. I may need to confirm the request came from you.

Specific regions:

• EEA / UK: the independent developer of Calaro is the data controller. Health data is processed on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You may complain to your national data protection authority.
• California: I do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, and health data is never used for behavioural advertising.
• Saudi Arabia: processing follows the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Concerns can be raised with SDAIA.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access to the backend is restricted. Being honest about the limit: no app can guarantee perfect security. Use a strong password and keep your device locked. If a breach affects your data, you will be notified as the law requires.

Calaro is not for children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA and UK). If a child has created an account, email me and it will be deleted.

11. Not medical advice

Calaro is a tracking tool, not a medical service. Nothing in the app is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making significant dietary changes — especially if you are pregnant, under 18, or managing a medical condition.

12. Changes

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top will change, and significant updates will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use means you accept the revised policy.
